Highlights.

Friday night the boyfriend and I were able to do our favorite Friday night activity...hit up BevMo for beer tasting followed by Green Flash Brewery.

Anna, we're going...if we maybe hang out.

My favorite beers at Green Flash:
Yellow Fizzy Beer
30th Street
West Coast IPA

and the Double Stout is growing on me...in small doses!

(No I do not have man hands & hairy arms...this is not me!)

Driving around town with the sunroof down :)

Saturday we attended the SOLO Eyewear party at the Hard Rock Hotel downtown.

Hellooooo rooftop views!

Thank you wall!

Thuggery.

After the party we did something glorious.

We had late night food aka "the 4th meal of the day"

Carne Asada Fries!!!

Only 2000 calories and like 21 grams of protein!

It's always nice to eat something that might give you a blood clot right before bed

Waking up is always a mystery...will you survive these? ;)

It's been about six months since we last had these...and we EVENLY split them (I made sure Jeff didn't come over to "my" side) so I'd say they were worth it. I don't even feel bad!

My weekend was so much fun!

On a more serious note...

Now I have finals and projects, work, and doctors appointments. I love being busy and getting stuff done, I just have A LOT going on this week. I really have felt a creative drain the past two weeks and blogging has sometimes felt like a chore. I've felt guilty when I haven't had time to post and try to whip up something "real quick." I hate what I posted yesterday. Yes, I love that quote, and yes I love sharing with you all how I'm feeling. But throwing up a quote to post something? It makes me feel like I'm not blogging how I'd like. I don't want to feel obligated to post something. I often tell people not to feel bad if they miss a day from blogging. But lately, when I miss, I feel guilty. I'm worried if I stop blogging on a regular basis, maybe my passion for the one hobby that's helped me regain my own sense of self might slowly die. That scares me. The feeling of not knowing what to post about scares me. I want to let you all know that this week I may be on a mini blog vacation. I have a ton going on with life and I don't want to post crappy stuff just to post something. I love the feeling of excitement when I feel like I've put something together that I'm truly proud of. I love waking up and seeing that it posted. I want to feel that again. This week, I don't know if I have time to blog how I want. My creative juices are just drained. So if you don't see me til next Monday, I'm sorry, I hope you have a fantastic week, and I hope you'll come back!

Have you felt like this before with blogging?

  1. I have for sure felt this way before. I'm trying to slow down a little bit with blogging so I don't feel so pressured to always have a good post. I have made the decision that it's quality over quantity and if I don't have something of quality to post, I'm just not going to post. I want to keep blogging fun and never have it feel like it's a chore. If you're feeling like it's a chore of you need a break, just do it. You'll feel better and more inspired after you take some time off. Just my thoughts :) Have a lovely Tuesday!

  4. Um, what? UNFOLLOW!! Just kidding, I'm here for the long haul ;)

Beer and bad food, so very "Hollie", and I take back what I said a week ago or so about you needing to go to the doctor ASAP because something must seriously be wrong with you. I kind of want to try those fries, really bad. I've never seen anything like them.

  5. Those fries look like they're to DIE FOR!! *Literally and figuratively* ;)

I know exactly how you feel. I just got done with finals and haven't had much time at all for blogging in the past two weeks! The only sound advice I can give is try to keep to a running pool of go-to posts for times like those.

PS: Just found your blog, now following and will definitely be back soon!

  7. I've been going through the same thing lately with my blog too. I hate just posting random stuff, just because I have to. I feel like I need to post every day! It's definitely feeling like a chore and I hate that, because blogging shouldn't be a chore. It should be fun!

  8. I have felt that way from time to time. Nothing to blog about. I think it is ok. Everyone needs vacations. Even bloggers. Often I'll use that time to read other blogs. That usually sparks some sort of creativity in me.

  9. Love that picture of you in the car :) And let me just say I totally agree with your last paragraph. I think many of this have felt the same way. I'm going through that this week. I'm exhausted, can barely keep my eyes open, still have 237 things to do before bed and yet I feel guilty that I don't have a blog post ready for tomorrow? I hate that. And then we just post something to post it and I feel like that's not why we started blogging in the first place. So, here's to re-doing our to-do list this week and cutting ourselves some slack. We'll all be here when you have more time/feel the blogging bliss again!! Go take care of those "life" things ;)

  10. I feel this way ALL the time! Sometimes you really just have to take step back and re-evaluate why you started blogging in the first place. when i have something to blog about or want to share, i blogt & if i dont or don't have time :: well it just doesn't happen that day! & I am learning to be more and more ok with it! I love your blog & I will ALWAYS come back no matter what!

    & that food looks yummo!

    xx.

  11. Sooo, how many breweries are going to? I'm only going to be there for a couple days. ;) I can't do IPA's…way too hoppy for me. But they're Matt's favorite. Sorry that I'm just getting around to reading this. :/ Getting caught up today.
