Do you have an IKEA near you?
We do and I'm obsessed.
I could spend hours there.
Hours upon hours exploring how they make such fabulously organized and aesthetically impressive small spaces.
My room is le small.
Which is fine. I am a single (as in not married but i'm kind of smitten over my best friend boyfriend so don't try to set me up....unless his first name is Ryan and last name is Gosling) twenty something who works full time and goes to school at night. So needless to say, I'm not home too often.
But when I am home I want a cozy, meticulously organized, space that is just mine.
Ya know?
I visited this wonderful store last night and changed the look in my room quickly and inexpensively!
Tip: Commit to a down comforter for a duvet. Cheap and easy way to switch it up!
Skinny shoe cabinet.
Entryway, bedroom, closet organization (although I think it's much too pretty for that) it does multiple jobs.
This coat rack. Someday it's going to start pouring down all the time like Seattle and I'll need this. And Hunter boots. ;)
Such a cute vase!
Vintage but not from the goodwill where you have no idea if anyone once peed in there.
This really unique and whimsical lamp!
Except at $69.99 I'd probably wonder why the hell I bought it one to two weeks later.
Where do you shop for home accessories?
My hubs won't even go into ikea with me... he hates it. So sad :( I do love that store, but I can't go when I'm hungry! The maze is too long to get through when I'm starving, haha!
ReplyDeleteOur closest ikea is in Dallas. So sad. But we've made trips just to buy stuff bc shipping is ridiculously expensive. My only complaint is putting the stuff together. They're directions are written in alien! I want that vase too! If I shopped at thrift stores a lot I'd now be weary of everything in there. I mean, someone probably peed on every item at some point in time.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE Ikea!!! My house is pretty much decorated in it!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOVE ikea!
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea too - except that it is always SO crowded there! I have to gear myself up for it and know I'll spend a lot of time there!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have Ikea down here! I have always wanted to go to one. I hear they are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had an Ikea closer! They have so many things that I need for the nursery...but my husband HATES going haha..bummer!
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea too, I always spend way too much there. HAHAHA about the pee on the vase!!! My husband always thinks everything at thrift stores are peed on.
ReplyDeleteI just went to ikea this weekend!! I love how cheap their stuff is! I didnt buy anything though!
ReplyDeleteI wish there was an IKEA near meee.... I LOVED having one so close when I was in college. Somehow though I have a hard time justifying a 6 hour drive to the nearest IKEA... yes, I've looked it up. and yes, I've had serious talks about going with my boyfriend. He won that one unfortunately. hah
ReplyDeleteI was there last night! I feel like every time I go I spend all my money.
ReplyDeleteI miss IKEA. We don't have one anywhere near us, but we used to go all the time when we lived in L.A. I call it the Forever 21 of home furnishings!
ReplyDeletei LOVE ikea!!! they have some of the cutest and original stuff :)
ReplyDeletethis lamp = love
We have an ikea in minneapolis. I have only been once and pretty much got lost! I could have bought the entire store!
ReplyDeletei love ikea! although it is a bit of a drive for me, it is definitely worth it! thank goodness they have amazing furniture, decor, and food after your shopping trip! i hope you get that lamp. it is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteikea is NOT near us.. and hubby has never been.. as remodelers, i can't imagine us going in there- we would never leave. ever. bahaha
ReplyDeletei love IKEA in short spans though. and i love the items you picked up holliy that duvet cover is great, love the print! and that lamp is definitely unique!
ReplyDeleteI actually went into Ikea and peed in that vase, hoping you would buy it.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really jealous that you have an Ikea. I want to go down and visit the one in Dallas even though I don't really have any furniture needs at the present. I'm sure I could find something I "needed".
ReplyDeleteThere is an IKEA down the road from me, which is dangerous. I also really love Home Goods for affordable home stuff!
ReplyDeleteI went there for the first time this summer! Needless to say I spent probably 5 hours there. I LOVE decorating, so it's the perfect store for me to wander in.

I was at IKEA last night oooing and ahhhing over all the fun things I could get for my apartment. I left with curtain rods, candles & picture frames. Successful trip:)
ReplyDeleteI have never thought about anyone peeing in a vase while thrifting! LOL! A blanket, yes. But a vase! I will never look at them the same again! Also, that white pillow is one of my favorites, somehow I don't own it, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on that shoe thing for a while! Cute and functional.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IKEA! Wait, let's back up... are you from Seattle!? (have we had this talk before? If so, please feel free to virtually punch me in the face).
ReplyDeletewow, I like that shoe cabinet! Is that really from Ikea? Gotta link?
ReplyDeletemy husband is a woodworker so he kinda *hates* Ikea because it's so "throw-away" I have no problems with it though, hehe.
I want that shoe holder. No, I NEED IT.

We're thinking about a couch from Ikea! It is amazing how time flies inside that place though :) We've found some of the best deals on little stuff in there (like an awesome chopping board!).
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with Ikea! I've actually been meaning to take a trip there for the past few weekends but I need to do a la solo considering the hubz always tries to rush me through!!
