Sandy Hook

There is no way I can come up with a normal blog post today. It just feels wrong. There is so much conversation to be had in our country concerning the shooting at Sandy Hook. There's been a hole in my heart this weekend. I know there's been a hole in all of our hearts. I hope that we can stand united, thoughtful, and intentional even as the days go by and last Friday seems to feel long ago.

+I'm so honored to be a citizen of this country where people like Robbie Parker exist.
+Read this article about Victor Cruz's tribute to a young victim and Giants fan, Jack Pinto.
+Consider this before you make assumptions about Nancy Lanza. This is a great start to a conversation that needs to be held about mental health.

  1. Thank you for sharing this. That is one strong father. When everyone talks about so much hate, it's important to remember to contain their own for all people- even the ones who commit these crimes. That said, I don't want to know the name of the gunman. I don't want it to be a household name. I want everyone to remember the lives lst because of that person, in hope that future assailants won't do something for fame.

  2. Yes, thank you for sharing. I just can't shake this tragedy... it's going to take me a while. That video is so incredibly touching and he is one strong man.

  3. Jack Pinto was the grandson of one of my High School teachers. Thank you for sharing that video...

  4. Thank you for posting this video! I loved when he talked about his daughter. This was so incredibly moving!

  5. Thank you for sharing that video. He has to be one of the strongest people I have ever watched. I can't imagine being able to give that speech feeling as he must be feeling.
