I did it with a magic wand.

Is it Monday again?! Wahhhhhh wahhhhhh. What'd you guys do this weekend? Anyways, here's a picture of yours truly at my birthday celebration over this past weekend.

Whenever I curl my hair like this, everyone wants to know my secret. I tried for years with a traditional curling iron and I couldn't get the hang of it. I can barely straighten my kinky hair people! Last summer I invested in a curling wand recommended to me by one of my former co-workers. It's seriously SO SO easy. I got mine at a kiosk at the mall off the strip in Las Vegas, but I'll show you one from Sephora that should work just the same.

All you have to do is divide your hair in sections like you would straightening it. I'm lazy and just put it in a pony tail and just keep pulling some down. It comes with a glove and I'm dead serious when I say this....YOU NEED IT! These things get SUPER SUPER hot and if you don't you may have to rush to the hospital and I don't want that! I have thick hair so once I get to the top of my head even with the glove it gets hot. How you hold the wand and how you wind your hair will get different results. I held the wand facing down away from head and switched off wrapping pieces of hair going away from my face and towards my face. I usually start to wrap the hair about half way down. I like it to be longish loose curls like this. 

I've also done the curls from the roots a la Taylor Swift which is more of a spunky look but perfect for country concerts! ;)

(PS-In case you were wondering...I got my outfit at this adorable boutique by my house in San Diego called Twirl. It's decently priced, I think the skirt was $24 and the top was $28? The white clutch I got from the same place about a year about for under $30)
